Yes, another award show. The new Critics’ Choice TV Awards are being streamed live during lunchtime on VH1′s website, not the network. Later, an edited version will be shown on the Reelz Channel, the cable network that recently achieved notice by picking up The Kennedys miniseries after it was ditched by the History Channel.
The head of the Broadcast Film Critics Association thinks the inaugural awards ceremony of its television offshoot will do for the Emmy race what the group’s Critics’ Choice Movie Awards has done for the Oscar race: shape it by predicting it.
