Zac Efron Set to Play Serial Killer Ted Bundy in ‘Extremely Wicked’
Are you ready to see a whole different kind of Zac Efron?
Efron is all set to play the infamous American serial killer and rapist Ted Bundy in an upcoming psychological thriller. The film, titled Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, will be helmed by Oscar-nominated documentary filmmaker Joe Berlinger.
Ted Bundy is one of the most notorious names in American crime history. During the 70s, Bundy had confesses to assaulting and murdering at least 30 young women. He was executed in 1989, at the age of 42. The film will be narrated from the point of view of Bundy’s long-time girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer. In real life, Kloepfer was the one who turned Bundy in to the authorities.
“Zac can play both the depth and the charm that this guy had in equal measures, and which allowed him to manipulate these women in such a terrifying way,” Nicolas Chartier, the producer of the film, told Deadline.
