February 10th, 2009 // 1 Comment

We don’t have all the youngest Oscar winners included in this photo gallery, but we do have most of them. Here are some of the bright, young hopefuls who have graced the stage at the Academy Awards and started off their acting careers on a high note. Some of their wins have also marked some of the most memorable Oscar acceptances of all time.

Tatum O’Neal was hardly a supporting actress (nor, even a good one, at that) for her role in “Paper Moon”. She had abundant screen time. Watch the movie again on DVD or TCM for the delightful supporting screen stealers Madeline Kohn and P.J. Soles. And certainly, you didn’t include the best juvenile performance of all time, Patty Duke in “The Miracle Worker”. Grace Kelly was a beautiful woman, but not much of an actress. She must have been very popular for her time having won over the much more talented Judy Garland, Dorothy Dandrige and Audrey Hepburn for the 1954 Oscar.
