‘X-Factor’ Star Rachel Crow’s Turns Her Tragic Past Into A Positive Story

Rachel Crow has one helluva voice, and she’s only 13.  The X-Factor contestant has one of those tragic pasts that makes for good television, and Crow’s mother opened up to the New York Post (via the Daily Mail) about Crow’s unfortunate beginnings.

“She was born a crack baby and actually lived in a crack house and suffered a lot of abuse,” mom Barbara explained. ‘But she is totally unaffected by it. She never looks at (her past) in a sad way. She looks at it as that is what made her the person she is.”  Barbara and her husband formallly adopted Rachel a year after taking her in as a foster child.

Rachel has no idea who her biological parents are, and has no desire to meet them.  “I have two amazing parents already,” she said to the Post.  If she wins the $5 million prize at the end of the competition, Rachel wants to use some of that money to help other foster children achieve their dreams.
