The actresses were recreating a scene from the film where they both turn up at a wedding in identical pink dresses.
“It was such a delight to work with her. She’s such an amazing woman,” Weaver said of Curtis. “It was really fun to hate her because I really love her. We’d only met before, and we’ve worked with a lot of the same people, in a lot of the same genres. It took a movie like You Again to put both of us in the same movie because we wouldn’t normally be. It would be one or the other.”
While Weaver, 60, and 51-year-old Curtis are starring in the film, the
story is of a young woman (Kristen Bell) who returns home to meet her
brother’s fiancée for the first time, only to discover she is her former
high-school nemesis (Odette Yustman).
The film also features Betty White, who sang Bell’s praise. “Kristen is such a consummate performer. She’s got incredible timing. I think she’s just one of our great young stars. She’s such a terrific person to act with. She and Odette worked so beautifully together,” the comedic legend added.
