‘White Collar’ Premiere Creates Ratings Buzz For USA
USA Network’s new original series, White Collar, stars Matt Bomer as convicted white collar criminal whose usuccessful attempt to escape from his maximum security prison lands him in the unusual situation of being able to work with the FBI in order to keep his relative freedom.
Bomer’s character of Neal Caffrey is monitored with an ankle bracelet by the FBI via satellite to ensure that he doesn’t stray from his mission of cooperating with the government, most specifically, FBI agent Peter Burke, played by Tim DeKay.
5.4 million viewers turned in to the premiere, beating out the premiere of USA’s other original series, Burn Notice in 2007. That’s also double the ratings earned by The Starter Wife, which occupied the same slot last year. Not too shabby for cable. A handsome man in a suit and handcuffs…what’s not to like?
