Wes Bentley Lands Lead In Ryan Murphy’s New Sexually Charged Series ‘Open’

So who else fell in love with Wes Bentley in American Beauty?

Wes has a rough time going following the death of his best friend Heath Ledger, but he’s totally turned his life around and is now back on top of his game. I mean, he was amazingly wonderful in The Hunger Games.

Now Wes, seen here at the Australians In Film and Heath Ledger Scholarship Host 5th Anniversary Benefit Dinner yesterday (June 12, 2013) in Los Angeles, California has landed another major role. HBO has cast the first star of Ryan Murphy‘s human sexuality drama Open, as Evan, a handsome but arrogant man who will tell you his theories about human sexuality given any chance.

Murphy (Glee, American Horror Story) and Lauren Gussis (Dexter) will write and executive-produce the project alongside Horror Story’s Dante Di Loreto.

The HBO pilot marks 34-year-old Bentley’s second television gig. He previously starred in another HBO pilot, Tilda, opposite Diane Keaton, but it was not picked up to series.

Being a Ryan Murphy show, this will definitely push boundaries, and I am more than eager to see what Wes does with the role. Here is to hoping that the show is picked up to series.
