We Wonder: Did Duchess Kate Inspire Jenny Packham’s New Collection?

On Monday (September 12th), designer Jenny Packham unveiled her Spring 2012 collection during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at The Studio at Lincoln Center in New York City.  With each piece that came down the runway, we couldn’t help but imagine what HRH Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge would look like in a flowing gown with a pop of color, or a long-sleeved sequined mini (you know, to show off those flawless gams).  And while, according to the Daily Mail, some fashion insiders don’t think that Catherine is a trendsetter, she is certainly influential.

What To Do If You’re Missing The Royal Couple

“Is she a style icon of the likes of a Kate Moss? Absolutely not. Is she in the public eye? Are people going to become obsessed with everything she wears regardless of what it is? Yes,” said Elle fashion news director Anne Slowey.

Fine, you have a point.  HOWEVER, it’s really fun to play “What Would Kate Wear” while looking through the gallery of Packham dresses.  Kate is definitely an Alexander McQueen girl, but she’s been known to put on a Packham frock every now and then.   As you recall, the Duchess was first spotted in one at the ARK dinner on June 9th, in London.  She then wore a canary yellow dress in Calgary during her official Canadian trip with husband Prince William.  And the last time we saw the Duchess in a Packham dress was during her weekend trip to California during the Santa Barbara polo match.
