After watching the cringeworthy interview Barack Obama did with Bill O’Reilly during the Superbowl, I’ve been hesitant to watch any others with the President. Those types of interviews are tense when there is mild confrontation.
Thankfully, the interview with Zach Galifianakis is a breath of fresh air.
While there are some incredibly tense scenes where you almost forget that this is supposed to be amusing, a few moments are able to put us at ease.
Sometimes the sarcasm is laid on so thickly that it’s difficult to differentiate between what’s serious and what’s supposed to be perceived as nothing more than a lighthearted joke.
At one point Galifianakis asked the Commander-in-Chief if he sent Dennis Rodman to North Korea and if Hulk Hogan would be sent to Syria. When Obama responded that Rodman wasn’t an ambassador, the host referred to North Korea as North Ikea. Now that line reduced some tension and make me smile.
Of course, the most publicly discussed issue was brought up. We’ve all heard about the Affordable Care Act and the issue with the government’s website. According to the President, the website is now up and running. Let’s hope those who are in need of assistance are now able to receive it.
Curious about what else these two men discussed? Check out the video above, then let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
