The holiday season is upon us and Hollywood is ready to pull on our heart strings. This Wednesday, Dec. 22, CBS will broadcast the 12th annual ‘A Home for the Holidays’ entertainment special featuring performances by the sexy Ms. Claus/Brand Katy Perry, Maroon 5, Nelly, Ricky Martin, and Melissa Ethridge.
Judging by the gallery, it looks like each of them gave their all to support Wendy’s, the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption and the Children’s Action Network who sponsor the event which is dedicated to increasing adoption awareness as there are more than 114,000 waiting children in the United States foster care system.
Interesting fact: Wendy’s International founder Dave Thomas was adopted and he established the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption in 1992.
Sandwiched in between each performance will be celebrity story segments where actresses and TV hosts like Mira Sorvino, Sharon Osbourne, Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Holly Robinson Peete, Leah Remini and Marissa Jaret Winokur share their own adoption experiences or experiences with children’s issues, highlighting some very special families who’ve had real life experience with adoption.
