Vogue’s No-No, Talley’s Uh-Oh
You would think that being an editor at Vogue would equal unrequited taste and style. I am guessing that Andre Leon Talley will be filling out unemployment applications in the near future. Andre is taking the heat for Jennifer Hudson’s Oscar fashion blunder.
The coverage on worst dressed lists everywhere slammed Hudson’s bolero jacket. A perfectly beautiful Oscar De La Renta gown was ruined by Talley’s choice of the metallic gold python disaster. He had taken her under his wing for the award season. But the Oscar fashion flub has earned nothing but negative feedback.
Page Six has heard from a source that:
“Jennifer was kind of sponsored by Talley and Vogue. Andre insisted she wear that hideous Oscar De La Renta dress with the awful, awful gold python bolero. Jennifer really didn’t want to, and so (celebrity stylist) Jessica Paster got her a beautiful gold Roberto Cavalli (gown) custom-made. But when Andre found out, he went ballistic.”
Obviously Andre won and she humbly wore the little piece of awful on the carpet. Kudos for her Oscar win. Despite looking like a Klingon she has dominated the awards season with her work. My guess is you will be able to catch Andre as the new doorman for Vogue’s home office.
