Victoria Beckham Hobnobs in Politics at the Women’s Conference

Does Victoria Beckham look like she’s feeling a little out of place in these pictures? Maybe just a little.

And no, it has nothing to do with Ambien.

Slightly out of her element, but true to her old Spice Girls’ “Girl Power” ways (although she’s happy to have outgrown that persona), Beckham attended the Women’s conference in California with fellow female heavyweights Lady Michelle Obama, Oprah and Maria Shriver.

The three-day event, hosted by First Lady of California Maria Shriver, invited over 150 influential speakers to give talks to 30,000 guests in Long Beach. The forum ‘is the nation’s premier forum for women, empowering women to be Architects of Change in their own lives, their communities and the world.’ This year’s theme was ‘It’s Time’, ‘A call to action to inspire women to see this challenging moment in history as an opportunity to come together and transform ourselves, our communities and our world.’

Politics appreciates Victoria putting aside the next Birkan bag pursuit for this great cause.

Somehow Jessica Simpson made it on the guest list and all she had to talk about was her weight and acceptance of not looking like Barbie anymore.

“When I’m hungry I’ll eat. When I’m not hungry, I won’t,” she said, according to The Daily Mail. “I’m not that much of a calorie counter, but I do think about it. I’m from Texas, so I love everything fried. I’ll give myself a cheat day every week.”
