Usher polishes Walk of Fame star during ‘Carpool Karaoke,’ teaches James Corden dance moves
The popular Late Late Show segment featuring the R&B Superstar aired Tuesday and began with Usher performing with Corden his 2004 smash hit “Yeah!” that features Lil Jon and Ludacris.
Once the duo pulled over, Usher gave the late night host some pointers on how to smoothly stroll into the club and how to light up the dance floors with a couple of moves while OutKast’s “So Fresh, So Clean” played. “I feel like I’m in a Broadway show,” Corden joked as he attempted to replicate how Usher enters a club.
After singing “Let It Burn,” the duo make another unscheduled detour to Usher’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star, where they give the plaque a good “spit-shine” cleaning. “I find it odd: You work all of these years, as hard you can, only to have people walk over you as a star,” Usher said.
“Please be respectful of the star, guys. Walk around the star of Usher,” Corden cautioned the tourists on Hollywood Boulevard.
This was followed with a karaoke of “Caught Up,” with Usher and Corden then debating whether or not Usher, a self-proclaimed vegan, is actually a vegan, considering the singer’s fondness for eating chicken, beef “and bacon for breakfast.” “That’s like saying I don’t drink at all. I only drink beer, cider, vodka and red wine,” Corden joked.
