UFC’s Hollywood Red Carpet Event at Mood

Wayne Ford and I (Lisa Timmons) decided that it was high time we started attending more events–to be more social, if you will. And last night, we checked out the UFC Hollywood Red Carpet Event at Mood on Hollywood Boulevard in (you guessed it) Hollywood.

The event was to be hosted by UFC Light Heavyweight Superstar Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, whom I recognized as the guy who wears a giant chain around his neck, that kind of makes him look like a bicycle that doesn’t want to be stolen. In any case, he was at the event and was nice enough to oblige us with a picture. On the confirmed guest list were Wilmer Valderrama, The Black-Eyed Peas and Tricky. I didn’t happen to see any of the above guests at the event, but I think that Wayne and I spotted a pretty hilarious will.i.am impersonator whose picture I really wanted to take, but Wayne refused to let me, lest the guy think I actually thought he was a stray pea.

More on the event, plus an encounter with a “Grey’s Anatomy” guest star, after the jump.

We had a good time, nonetheless, and I was actually more than pleased when I recognized an actor who had made a guest appearance on my beloved “Grey’s Anatomy” this past season–Gabriel Casseus–who played an epileptic father who came in to get brain surgeries to stop his seizures. So naturally, I got a picture with him.

All in all, I had a good time. Wayne and I had never been to any kind of UFC event (that wasn’t in someone’s living room) and spent most of the night planning to challenge stray fighters to arm-wrestle Wayne, and/or if they’d like tickets to “the gun show.” Luckily, it never came to that.

Thanks go to Fresh Politix Inc. for inviting us in the first place.
