Tony Awards Style is Polished and Poised

The 64th Annual Tony Awards held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City premiered poised and polished fashion, as well known film names took to the theater red carpet.

Fashion nods go to Scarlett Johansson, who wore a breath-taking emerald green Elie Saab gown, obviously chosen knowing her performance in Arthur Miller’s A View from the Bridge would land her a Tony. Her bouffant and arm candy, husband Ryan Reynolds, were the finishing accessories to perfect red carpet style.

Another notable nod to Catherine Zeta Jones, who wore a powder blue Versace gown, looking ever elegant until her acceptance speech when she thanked her husband Michael Douglas, “the movie star I get to sleep with every night.” Ew, TMI.

Daniel Radcliffe will always pull of the put together ‘Harry Potter’ look, while I wish Ricky Martin had cleaned up his scruffy red carpet look. Really, only Matthew Morrison should pull off that understated red carpet look.

Speaking of suits, Cate Blanchett chose to shimmer in an evening suit by Giorgio Armani Privé. I would disagree with Grazia about the shaky applause for this choice. An analysis of Blanchett’s professional career would support her strong choices in fashion and film, and this suit is just a punctuation of it.

However, Lea Michele’s yellow exclamation of a Zac Posen draped dress is a highlight I will agree with them on.
