Tom was involved in one of those awful internet hoaxes earlier this week, which claimed the star had died.
Rumors of the actor’s alleged demise gained traction on Monday after a ‘R.I.P. Tom Sturridge’ Facebook page attracted nearly one million of ‘likes’. Those who read the ‘About’ page were given a believable account of the British actor’s passing…
“At about 11 a.m. ET on Monday (April 08, 2013), our beloved actor Tom Sturridge passed away. Tom Sturridge (son of Charles Sturridge and Phoebe Nicholls) was born on December 21, 1985 in London. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.”
Hundreds of fans immediately started writing their messages of condolence on the Facebook page, expressing their sadness that the talented 27-year-old actor was dead. And as usual, Twitter was frenzied over the death hoax.
I honestly don’t get why people start death hoaxes. To me they seem to be really cruel. For everyone’s sake, especially baby Marlowe’s, were happy that this was just a hoax.
