Tom Hardy, Princes William and Harry ‘filmed cameos’ in new Star Wars movie

Star Wars films are never short of cameo appearances for eagle-eyed fans to uncover. In an interview with BBC Radio4, star John Boyega confirmed that Star Wars: The Last Jedi will feature cameo appearances by Prince William, Prince Harry, and Dunkirk star Tom Hardy.

After being asked if the Royals had been given lines during their cameo appearance, Boyega confirmed their roles:

“I’ve had enough with those Prince William secrets, man, cause I swear there were images or whatever online. They came on set, man. They were there, man. Tom Hardy was there too, man. I said it.”

“I’m sick of hiding this!” he added. “I think someone leaked it or something, then there was like an image of some sort. And I was just like ‘Oh, damn.’ Every time I get asked, I don’t know how to dodge it — yeah, they were on set.”

Earlier this year Princes William and Harry visited the Pinewood Studios set, and sources close to the project claimed the Royals filmed cameos as stormtroopers. Director Rian Johnson had previously teased the possibility of a cameo appearance by the Princes, though Boyega is the first to confirm their presence in the film.

Star Wars: Episode VIII is set for release on December 15th, 2017.
