As if Gwyneth Paltrow didn’t have a big enough ego already.
Designer Tom Ford is very fussy about which people he dresses, and cites the US actress – who he memorably dressed for The Oscars in 2012 – as his all-time favorite.
He said: “I dress only celebrities who are real clients. I’ve been fortunate to dress who I want to dress. Gwyneth Paltrow for the Oscars that year was the perfect person to dress, and I didn’t dress anyone else. I didn’t want to. The important thing is not to dress as many people as you can, but to really get the right person.”
Ford just debuted his Spring 2014 line during London Fashion Week. He said his upcoming spring-summer collection was all about dressing the ‘powerful’ Tom Ford woman.
“This season I wanted it to be quite strong and athletic, you know in the summer you exercise and your body is toned, your thighs are toned, your shoulders – you’ve been swimming – you need minimal things on your face hopefully because you have a fresh, natural glow, and I wanted to create this powerful woman on the runway,” Ford said.
I’m envisioning that he’s talking about Linda Evangelista right about now.
