Last night at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Tina Feytold E!‘s Giuliana Rancic that a musical based on the 2005 comedy may be in the works.
“Maybe! We want to. I would love to,” Fey, who won a SAG for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy, said. “I’m trying to develop it with my husband, who does all the music for 30 Rockand I think Paramount’s onboard.”
Fey would cast Carey Mrs. George, played by Amy Poehler in the movie. The grumpy dad who didn’t love Regina’s Halloween costume? Why, Tommy Lee Jones, of course!
“Every time we came out I felt like, not only was Tommy Lee Jones looking at me, but looking at me like he was so mad at me,” Fey remembered at the Golden Globes. “But I think that might just be his face.”
