For those of you behind on your TiVo’d TV watching, you might want to skip this one because yes, I’m going to be talking about the winner of this season’s “Dancing with the Stars.” Two-time Olympic medal-winning speed skater, Apolo Anton Ohno, edged out boxer, Laila Ali, and former boy band member, Joey Fatone, to snag the trophy for best dancing couple. Dancing judge, Carrie Ann Inaba, expressed her enthusiasm for Ohno’s performances to People magazine:
“He took it so seriously. He truly mastered the dances. He was the best technical dancer. Apolo and Julianne brought a whole new energy to the dance floor. You never quite knew what they were going to do.”
Joey Fatone landed in second place, a fact that did little to damper his upbeat outlook, referring to his experience on the show as “”one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life.” He also said, “I feel like a winner.”
Unfortunately, I don’t know that that’s enough for J. Harvey, who has since informed us that in protest of Joey Fatone not being selected for first place, he will be going on a hunger strike. Because we here at ASL know how to pick our causes.
Photos of the winners from “Dancing With the Stars” are after the jump.
