The Men: 2010 MTV Movie Awards

The men of the red carpet for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards last night (June 6) pretty much stuck to a uniform of blazers and jeans, but a few notables stuck out.

I was taken with T.I.‘s Miami look. It made me want to sit back with a tropical drink and watch a sunset. While Vanessa Hudgens’ dress was just eh, I loved how he rman Zac Efron punched up the boy uniform with gray jeans and a more formal blazer.

The Jersey Shore boys looked, well, Jersey with graphic prints, spikey hair, and oh yea, The Situation left his shirt at home and just wore a wife beater and vest. His shirts are probably all worn down the middle since every two seconds he must lift his shirt to show off his abs. Although non ab-bearing Shuan White skipped the shirt and the wife beater and just went for the vest.

All this is making Russell Brand’s half button shirt standard seem very conservative.

What was with the HTTD (head to toe denim)? Sean Combs looked old school and not in a good way and breaking that up with some leather sleeves did not help. He looked like a black Andrew Dice Clay. Jackie Chan also embraced one of the 80s most unfortunate male trends and Jaden Smith..well, he just a kid, he doesn’t know any better so free pass.

Snoop wore a bright and supportive statement for his Lakers, specifically Kobe, and Johnny Weir is supported the gold foil industry.

So the looks that I hope stop in their tracks and don’t move to trends would be HTTD, nipple exposure, and jackets shinier than the change in my pocket.
