The Lazarus Effect Presents What Penelope Cruz, Bono, And Other Celebs Bought For 40 Cents

Photographer Brigitte Lacombe directed a slew of stars in a promotion for The Lazarus Effect Campaign launched by (RED). The campaign raises awareness of the antiretroviral medicine for those in Africa living with HIV.

Susan Smith Ellis, CEO, (RED) says “We felt it was important to show that people’s lives are being transformed every day by medication funded by organizations such as the Global Fund and PEPFAR. The money is working.” And the pills only cost 40 cents a day.

In the video Dakota Fanning, Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem, Bono, Christy Turlington, Julianne Moore and many many others celebs present what items they were able to acquire for 40 cents. Check out the video after the jump.

Bono and Christy were also able to attend The Lazarus Effect event at the Museum of Modern Art in New York on Tuesday (May 4) along with other famous supporters who weren’t in the clip like Gabourey Sidibe and Hayden Christensen.
