‘The Vampire Diaries’ Recap: Ordinary People

Last night’s episode of The Vampire Diaries was educational, in that it answered a lot of questions we forgot to ask.  For instance, how did the original vampires become who they are?  Now that I’ve learned the backstory on Mikael (I’ve been spelling his name incorrectly this whole time), my perception of the original family has changed a bit.

Rebekah and Elijah are the victims here, but for a good chunk of last night’s episode I felt bad for Klaus (or Niklaus).  He wasn’t Mikael’s son, and for that he was punished.  And ps-Mikael is so handsome.

I was really hoping for Elena to give Rebekah a hug after she delivered the bad news.  Sister’s sobbing on the floor after you told her that it was Klaus who killed her mother and not Mikael, and then you just peace out?  Console the poor thing!

Props to Alaric for decoding the drawings down in Fraggle Rock.  For without his help, Elena wouldn’t have been able to make Rebekah feel so bad!

Nature’s servants VS. abomination of nature.  How very interesting.

Oh, be still my heart.  That last scene of the episode where Elena just lets herself relax while Damon lies next to her.  You can feel the sexual tension between these two ridiculously good-looking people, and all you want is for them to start kissing.  Stefan is being such an a**hole this season, and it’s forcing me to reevaluate his relationship with Elena.

So…Is Katherine dead?
