‘The Situation’ Book Flops = Target Audience Can’t Read

I hope you’re sitting down for this. Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino‘s book, entitled Here’s The Situation, is a major flop. Now, THAT’S the situation.

The book, which is a guide to “creeping on chicks,” “avoiding grenades” and understanding the important of a good GTL balance, has only sold 4,000 copies after a month on shelves. Needless to say, the publisher is not happy. But why are they surprised? Don’t they know that they people they want to buy that book don’t actually buy books, much less read anything that isn’t 140 characters or less.

“For a high-profile author, 4,000 copies it pretty bad,” Jim Milliot of Publishers Weekly told Life & Style Weekly’s Scene Queens this week. “It’s definitely a disappointment to the publishing company which will probably lose money on the deal.”

And if you think this is bad, we still have more Jersey Shore pages of wisdom in store for us, with books coming out in 2011 by Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi, Jenni ‘J-Woww’ Farley, and Paul ‘Pauly D’ Delvecchio.
