There is something to say about how much influence celebrities can have in the world. Sometimes it can be a bad thing, and sometimes it can be a super amazing thing.
Justin Bieber‘s tweet did an amazing thing. The little pop star urged his millions of Twitter.com followers to sign up to The Trillium Gift of Life Network after Ottawa woman Helene Campbell reached out to him for help.
The 20 year old, who is currently waiting for a lung transplant in Toronto, sent Bieber a message on the social networking site asking him to encourage his Canadian fans to join the cause.
Bieber retweeted her plea on Saturday (January 21) and told her, “You have amazing strength. I got u (sic),” before asking fans to “help spread the word… be an organ donor”.
By Sunday, the Trillium Gift of Life Network’s beadonor.ca website reported 565 new donors, “thanks to Helene, her team, and all the Bielibers out there!”, the life-saving organization reported on its Facebook page.
That tally then crossed the 1000 new online donor registration mark early Tuesday.
