It was Ladies Day today (June 21st) at day three of Royal Ascot, and Queen Elizabeth personally invited the Duchess of Cambridge‘s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton to ride in the daily carriage procession from Windsor Castle to the Berkshire course. They, along with Prince Philip and Princess Anne, enjoyed a private luncheon at the castle beforehand as part of Her Majesty’s week-long “house party” to celebrate Royal Ascot, according to the Daily Mail.
While Michael (bless his heart) appeared just as happy to be here as he would on his lawnmower at the Middleton house in Berkshire, Carole was all smiles, waving to people from the carriage the couple shared with Ronald Arculli, head of the Hong King Stock Exchange.
Carole and Prince Philip laughed together in the royal box while watching the horse races, reminding me of his animated chat with Pippa Middleton April 29th on Buckingham Palace’s balcony; he had her in fits of giggles as well.
Princess Beatrice wore a beautiful Erdem dress with YSL heels and a Noel Steward hat, while her sister, Eugenie wore a Paule Ke dress with Christian Louboutin heels and a hat by Stephen Jones. Princess Anne, more into the race than what to wear, recycle the outfit she wore to the royal wedding last year.
