The Many Eccentric Hats At The Royal Wedding
What is a British wedding without hats? As expected, the first shots from inside Westminster Abbey caught a sea of “fascinators,” a fancy British term for hats and headpieces. Though us Americans skip such pieces in favor of tousled locks and bouffants, our friends over in England aren’t shy about topping off their outfits with a dramatic hat. Princess Beatrice, for example, turned heads with her squid-bow prop by milliner Philip Treacy. Nice try upstaging the bride, fifth-in-line.
Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge is famous for her many fascinators, as we’ve seen throughout her courtship with Prince William. Let’s take a look at the many ladies who saluted Her Royal Highness this morning at Westminster Abbey.
