The Hollywood Film Awards Gala is known around Tinsletown as the official kick-off to awards season, mainly because it’s indicative of which stars and films will score Golden Globe/SAG/Oscar nods.
The 16th annual gala, presented by The Los Angeles Times, took place at the famed Beverly Hilton Hotel last night.
Dustin Hoffman was named Hollywood Breakthrough Director for his behind-the-camera debut, Quartet. Richard Gere received the Hollywood Career Achievement Award, while Bradley Cooper picked up the Hollywood Actor Award for his role in The Silver Lining Playbook, according to Contact Music.
Cooper’s co-star, Robert De Niro received the Hollywood Supporting Actor Award, while a Christian Dior-clad Marion Cotillard walked away with the Actress Award for Rust and Bone.
Judd Apatow scored the Hollywood Comedy Award, Amy Adams (wearing Oscar de la Renta and jewels by Tiffany & Co.), received the Hollywood Supporting Actress Award for The Master, and Quentin Tarantino received recognition for his Django Unchained screenplay.
Rust and Bone and The Silver Lining Playbook will be screened at the upcoming AFI Fest in Hollywood from November 1st-November 8th.
Also at the gala: Tom Ford, Ezra Miller, Kerry Washington (in Monique Lhuillier with Louis Vuitton accessories) Ben Affleck, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Susan Sarandon, Clea Duvall (wearing shoes by Hey Lady), Helen Hunt, Bryan Cranston, John Hawkes, and Amanda Seyfried (in Prabal Gurung with Jimmy Choo heels).
