The Duchess of Cambridge might be taking a timeout from engagements this week, but the (royal) show must go on!  Fear not, though.  Catherine is scheduled to attend a reception for Olympic medalists at Buckingham Palace next Tuesday (October 23rd) alongside the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall.

In this week’s episode, we kept you updated on Prince William’s royal duties from late last week.  The Duke of Cambridge presented the Skillforce Prince’s Award to deserving youngsters before speaking at a dinner for the 100 Women in Hedgefunds philanthropic initiative.

Did you get to see pictures of this nifty cake at the October Club’s dinner Wednesday night (October 17th)?  The event was held to raise money for St. Giles Trust, an organization helping to rehabilitate ex-convicts, of which William is a patron.

We’re very excited to showcase the style of another royal, Her Royal Highness Sophie, Countess of Wessex.  Born a commoner, Sophie worked in PR before marrying Prince Edward at Windsor Castle’s St. George’s Chapel in 1999.  The couple focus on royal duties these days, and have two children-Louise and James.

Sophie, 47, gives our dear Catherine a run for her money in the style stakes.  She favors classic yet cutting-edge looks by Bruce Oldfield, and we’re enchanted by her fascinators, many of which are designed by Jane Taylor.
