It’s almost Christmas, and the time has come to look back on some of the greatness that occurred this year in Windsorville.
Let’s get down to brass tacks, shall we?
First off, let’s all continue to keep Catherine and her lil baby in our thoughts as she trucks through the dreadful morning sickness that put her in hospital a few weeks back. St. James’s Palace will not keep the public updated on her condition, as Hyperemesis Gravidarium can last long into the pregnancy.
Pray tell, what was your favorite “Second Time Around” look of Catherine’s?
Guess what! Her Majesty‘s traditional Christmas Message will be broadcast in 3-D this year! However, this only means exciting things for those whose televisions are 3-D ready. For the rest of us, just sit back and watch as the Queen looks back fondly on a year that went off without a hitch. Yanks can tune into the broadcast via BBC America Christmas Day.
And finally, a man who is fast becoming my favorite author stopped by (via Skype) for a chat about his new fiction novel, Mrs. Queen Takes The Train. William Kuhn knows a thing or two about the royals (a man after my own heart), and injected plenty of historical facts into his tome about an interesting scenario involving the Queen and her subjects.
I say this not to butter Mr. Kuhn up, but I couldn’t put his book down. It was well-written, entertaining as all get-out and a real treat for those who don’t know much about Britain’s monarchy. Yes, it’s possible to learn a little something and enjoy oneself simultaneously.
BTW, I took a page from Catherine and rewore French Connection‘s Winter Gems tunic dress. And in true DoC fashion, it’s now on sale.
Join us next week for a 2012 fashion round up with What Kate Wore‘s editor-in-chief.
