I think we can all agree that growing up in the Kardashian household was probably not very easy. Sure you had money and were considered a socialite, but have you met Kris Jenner? Imagine having that as your mother.
“She didn’t mean harm, but when I was around nine I overheard my mom telling her friend I needed a nose job. I was shocked; I hadn’t even thought about it. I’ve grown into my face, but I’ve had makeup artists tell me, ‘You should get a nose job.’ I’m so happy that I never have.”
Now, this story particularly upsets me because my entire life people have been nitpicking all the things that I need to change about myself. Whether it was at 8-years-old when my grandma told me I needed a nose job, or at 14 when everyone kept telling me I had to highlight my hair or I wouldn’t be attractive. For the record, I have done neither.
Do people not realize that at 9 we’re supposed to be encouraging young girls to feel good about themselves? Luckily Kris didn’t tell Khloe directly that she needs a nose job, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she had. And while Khloe maintains to never having had any plastic surgery, she does look a little different.
It’s not that I have anything against nose jobs. If you want one, get it and feel good about yourself. But can we agree to not tell children everything “wrong” with them? Let us know what you think about Khloe’s remarks the comments.
