Teen Mom star Amber Portwood told Star Magazine that she’s heading to rehab in California, according to Radar Online. Portwood, who will be treated for “anger control issues and depression,” confessed to Star, “I’m on medication at the moment to just help me relax. I’m in a vulnerable state right now and I know people want a lot of answers.”
On June 14th, Portwood attempted suicide at her Indiana home after talking to boyfriend Gary Shirley earlier in the day. The troubled young mom told Shirley that she was having a hard time and wanted to hang herself. Police later found a semi-conscious Portwood in her home and learned that she had taken pills. After being held on a 72-hour watch, Portwood was released.
Before heading off to rehab, Portwood is seeing a psychiatrist and trying to keep her head up for a little gal named Leah. “My daughter is keeping me strong,” she told Star.
The original cast of Teen Mom returns for a new season on MTV July 5th.
