Taylor Lautner Does Cancun, and Possibly a Vision Quest

Taylor Lautner is striking while the iron’s hot, and this time, for starring roles.

The Twilight hottie’s Dad, Dan Lautner will be lining up and producing Cancun, a film under the helm of their father/son production company, Tailor Made Entertainment (a venture they started “to develop film and television vehicles for the 17-year-old”).  “The story follows an out-of-place college kid who travels with a girl to Cancun on a break.  While there, the girl and her friends are taken hostage by a drug cartel and he is forced to save them.”  Saucy.  Seems like a good role for the muscle teen who will get to use his range of martial arts talents in the flick.

Another potential opportunity almost under Lautner’s blackbelt is the remake of the 1985 coming-of-age drama, Vision Quest.  Although it’s not confirmed, there are rumors floating that this is in the works.  For those of you who don’t remember the movie, think Matthew Modine, wrestling, and cougar women with perms.  Allegedly, “Taylor saw [the script] and is really excited about it,” says a source. “It’s very much in line with his athleticism.  His character is someone who’s striving for greatness.”  Obviously.

Either way, we get to catch more of Lautner’s abs for longer, bigger, and extra-cut in the very near future.
