Taylor Swift Talks To ‘Glamour’ About John Mayer And Sprinkles [PHOTOS]

As Glamour’s November cover girl, Taylor Swift opened up (a little, but not too much) about how the fellas inspire her to write and her best gal pals.  Swift, who was spotted shooting a music video for her new single, “Begin Again” in Paris, didn’t give away the whole farm, although we were able to get a few things out of her.

Swift on her bubbly person: I think some people think it’s just apple pie and sunshine and sprinkles and ponies. Which is just funny. But I never feel the need to go out and make some grand statement that I’m dark and twisty and complicated, because I’m not that either. It’s just not as simple as ponies and rainbows, though I do love ponies and rainbows.

On her famous besties, Emma Stone and Selena Gomez:  They are so important in my life right now. I’m the kind of girl who needs to tell her friends everything. I’ve developed this really close-knit group of girls. Two of my close friends are bandmates. My other close friends are Ashley, Claire, Diana, Emma, and Selena.

I met Emma when I was 17, and I met Selena when I was 18. So they’ve experienced all of this with me, and they’ve also experienced their own amazing success, and somehow through all of it, we’ve stayed close.

On getting to know the Kennedy clan through her relationship with Conor Kennedy, 18: I don’t talk about my personal life in great detail. I write about it in my songs, and I feel like you can share enough about your life in your music to let people know what you’re going through.

Oh come on!

Glamour told Swift that when Ethel Kennedy (Conor’s grandmother) was asked what she would think of having Swift as a “granddaughter-in-law,” the matriarch said said, “We should be so lucky.”

On John Mayer’s reaction to her single, “Dear John:”  No! I don’t want to know, I don’t want to know.  I know it wasn’t good, so I don’t want to know. I put a high priority on staying happy, and I know what I can’t handle.

Fair enough.
