Steven Soderbergh And George Clooney Say U.N.C.L.E.

November 18th, 2010 // Leave a Comment

No surprise that almost hours after director Steven Soderbergh signed on to do a film version of the 1960s spy series The Man From U.N.C.L.E., George Clooney was all up on that. So basically, get ready to relive Ocean’s Eleven as if its 1965.

The two are frequent collaborators (this would be their 7th film together) but scheduling might tear the two away. Clooney, pictured at the UN today, is going to be busy with his directorial project The Ides of March, while Soderbergh is slated to helm a Liberace project in summer 2011.

While I’m glad to see Soderbergh return to what he does best (The Girlfriend Experience, Che…really?), honestly, I wouldn’t mind if Clooney has to skip this one out. Hasn’t he taken up enough of this genre already? Jon Hamm is eagerly waiting in the wings, just sayin’ (plus the 60s is his decade!).
