Steve Carell admitted in this week’s Hollywood Reporter that The Daily Show With Jon Stewart can be “needlessly mean”. Steve Carell worked on the show in 1999 as a correspondant and stayed with the show until 2005.

Carell admitted the following in the interview: “It’s one thing poking fun at people who deserve it but there was that flip side of shooting fish in a barrel. It’s just cruel.”

Although he felt guilty at times for being too harsh during his interview segments, he and the host, Jon Stewart, are still nothing but good friends.

In Fact, just recently he made a guest apparence on The Daily Show to advertise his new movie Seeking a Friend for the End of the World. Launch the gallery to check out 10 quotes from Steve, and see why he’s actually as sweet guy.
