‘Spartacus’ Actor Christian Antidormi Is Not Afraid Of Risky Roles
This past weekend the Spartacus franchise came to and end with the series finale of Spartacus: War of the Damned. 20-year old Australian actor Christian Antidormi plays Tiberius on show, and i-Darryl spoke with the actor in a lengthy interview about how far he would go in Hollywood.
Here are some highlights from the interview:
i-D: You would obviously fall into the heart throb category in Hollywood, that can be very dangerous for your career, I think it is a very good opportunity for you to be on Spartacus because of the edge, however is there anything that Hollywood that is off the table? Like a sex scene, gay character, reality shows etc.
CA: Not really, but I’m always up for a challenge. Nothing beats getting out of your comfort zone and trying to immerse yourself in something new.
i-D: You have been acting for a short time. When did you know you wanted to be an actor?
CA: Since I was around 14. I had always been very interested in it, but my first taste of the art at 14 really solidified that passion in me.
I-D: What about the physical change?
CA: The physical preparation for Spartacus was intense. The regime has become globally recognized and was so beneficial for the actors both physically and mentally. One month before shooting we undertook a gruesome boot camp that helped us to shred fat and build lean muscle, to try and achieve that gladiatorial physique. The training was maintained throughout the shoot and matched with a specific diet tailored as each actor in the show to help achieve our goals.
i-D: You see a beautiful woman. How do you approach her?
CA: By doing just that. So many people don’t take that first step and I think if you’re completely honest and yourself when you go up to her, she’ll dig it.
The guy can act and he knows how to be a gentleman. It sounds like he’s going to go far in Hollywood.
