We’re all in agreement that Gwyneth Paltrow isn’t tone deaf, but I’m not certain how I feel about learning of her recent record deal. AOL Music reports that the Oscar winner and budding songstress has signed a contract worth roughly $900,00 with Atlantic Records. The deal comes after Paltrow enjoyed months of musical fortune-She sang on Glee as substitute teacher Holly Holliday and performed at this year’s American Music Awards, Grammys and Oscars.
I should probably be thrilled that Atlantic offered Paltrow the contract instead of, let’s say, Kim Zolciak. However, Paltrow’s voice a bit too bland to be spread across an album full of songs. She’s a real onscreen talent and one of my favorite actresses, but I can’t help but think that an album is overkill.
Just promise us no techno beats, GP. And make sure to keep those vocal chords hydrated after you board your British Airways flight cross the pond. No sense in weakening the moneymaker.
