It turns out the Sofia Vergara was originally offered the role that went to Nicole Kidman in The Paperboy. You know, the movie which Nicole pees on Zac Efron after he’s stung by a jellyfish in the film.
Well, Sofia, who was spotted last week doing some shopping at Bristol Farms, wasn’t all that comfortable doing that. She told Us Weekly…
“I was so glad that I didn’t have to pee in anyone’s face, though. I was glad it was not me,” Vergara explained, laughing, “For [Kidman], that’s nothing. For me, it would have been three weeks of stress. ‘How am I going to pee in there?’”
Despite the questionable scene, Vergara explains she actually doesn’t have any limitations when it comes to choosing a role. “I have no limitations and I believe in directors directing and if they see something — for example Paperboy, when I auditioned three times with Lee Daniels the director and he said, ‘Yeah, you can do the role.’ I was like ‘Okay, if you say I can do the role, I’ll do it,’” Vergara explained. “I would never do something like, ‘I want this and that scene no matter who you are.’ . . . If I do auditions and the director thinks I can do it, then I’ll do it.”
I’m guessing The Paperboy would have been a whole other movie if Sofia had taken on the role.
