Ten years! Holy crap!
Today is SOCIALITELIFE.COM‘s 10th anniversary!
Socialite Life came into the world before Twitter, YouTube, TMZ, PopSugar, Just Jared, Perez Hilton and my beloved iPhone.
We’ve seen our slew of site designs and logos (I still miss our martini glass), and we’ve had our share our editors over our years here at Socialite Life – Michael Prieve, Lisa Timmons, J Harvey, Madison Ventura, Justin Thompson, Kelly Lynch – and our current editor Sabba Rahbar, as well as a slew of contributors and interns, who we have could not do what we do on a daily basis without. So, a toast to all of you, with a big blue cheese stuffed olive hug!
Socialite Life’s “big break” came when we posted our Amanda Hesser eating at McDonald’s sighting and Page Six picked it up. Once that hit the internet and print, the booze filed train ride became unstoppable at that point.
This site began as a parody or skewering of celebrity, and slowly evolved in to a celebrity news site. Rather than continue to regurgitate whatever everyone else is regurgitating in the celebrity news realm, this year we’ve been focusing more on your and our favorite celebrity crushes and celebrity screw ups, and inject a healthy dose of pop culture phenomenons for good measure.
Moving forward, you’ll be seeing some technology and interface improvements on the site (our much faster and smoother gallery experience just launched), as well as our continued unique takes on pop culture, our celebrity crushes, celebrity fuck ups, reader favorites and plenty of rock hard celebrity abs and bikini bods!
On behalf of our staff, I also want to give a huge thanks to you, our readers. For those of you who have stuck with us over the last ten years, mazel. You deserve one huge fucking martini! For those who are newer to the site, welcome, and please feel free to join in on the fun by commenting on our posts, and whenever you can, please share our stories to your social networks by clicking the share buttons. Help us to continue to spread the Socialite Life word!
So without further adieu, I’ve chosen 11 of my favorite “early years” posts when Socialite Life was just lil’ ole me.
