Small Town Socialite: Sharon Stone Is Back

March 28th, 2006 // 4 Comments

Welcome to our new weekly feature Small Town Socialite. We realize that everyone doesn’t live in the big city, so we asked our intern E.K. Jones, to scour the web for events, openings, and time wasters that the rest of the country can take part in. So mark your calendars.

  • Keep your legs crossed that it doesn’t sell out. “Basic Instinct 2” opens Friday nationwide.
  • Free downloads of the pilot episode of Bravo‘s “The Real Housewives of Orange County” are available on iTunes for a limited time. I guarantee that if you spend five minutes with these women you’ll be happy to be stuck wherever you are.
  • Maybe you’re closer to Hollywood than you think. Thanks to the power of free face recognition software, now everyone can channel their internal celebrity. A word of caution, though: Try not to look at the matches for the opposite sex. Evidently I have a little bit of Macaulay Culkin inside of me.

aaah! Those housewives are scary! I guess I’m glad I have a cool job, and a corny husband, even if I ain’t got bling. :)

I have both Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman in me. What are the odds?

I’m pleased that I have David Beckham in me. Not so pleased that my female counterparts are Camilla Parker Bowles and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Apparently, I have no link to any celebrity whatsoever. Feeling rather vexed, I decided to run a recent picture of Courtney Love through the system to test its accuracy. The top match for her face was Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan. Wait, it gets better! The program also said Love was a 68 percent match with Lucy Liu. I always thought those two were separated at birth. Best of all, the list of matches did not contain Courtney Love. If I were her, I would be having an identity crisis right now…
