Showtime Generates Buzz with New Seasons of Shows
“Weeds” is set to premiere on Showtime Monday August 13th at 10pm (featuring our favorite billionaire twin Mary-Kate Olsen) and to celebrate the upcoming third season of the show, Showtime had its stars hit the red carpet at the Arclight in Hollywood, where the first episode of the new season was shown last night. Just to jog your memory, Mary-Kate Olsen took on the role of the love interest for the son of Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker), Silas (Hunter Parrish) as a devoutly Christian girl who recently moved to the “Weeds” community of Majestic. I love me some “Weeds” and Mary-Louise Parker, with her perfect skin and dark hair and eyes and an iced coffee perpetually in one hand. She’s one of the reasons I avoid the sun like the plague, in the hopes that I can age remotely like her. Showtime Networks president of entertainment since 2003, Bob Greenblatt, attributes Showtime’s growing success to a dedication to quality programming.
“I never underestimate the strength of HBO and their ability to put on great programming, but I think we’re in a great position that we’ve never been in before,” he said. “Nobody’s going to be ignoring us for the next five years.”
Lucky for me, Netflix makes HBO and Showtime all equal in my eyes.
