Shia LaBeouf To Take Over For Harrison Ford?

We’d like to bring Shia LaBeouf for bringing his wizened grandpa from the home. Shia might have hit the jackpot. He stars in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull with Harrison Ford, and he will reportedly reprise his “Mutt” character in the next Indiana Jones film. Which might feature Harrison Ford acting as Shia’s…sidekick? Oh no they didn’t!

George Lucas says that he has this idea where he wants Shia’s character (rumored to be Indy’s son in the new movie) to become the main guy and for Harrison to serve much like Sean Connery did in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. As a sidekick and comic relief. And if you think I’m typing “Indiana Jones and the really long adventure mcguffin whatever” again, you’re crazed.

“I haven’t even told Steven [Spielberg] or Harrison this,” Lucas said. “But I have an idea to make Shia the lead character next time and have Harrison come back like Sean Connery did in the last movie. I can see it working out.”

Yeah. For Shia! He might suck with the ladies but he will get PAID. Harrison Ford isn’t saying whether Indy 5 or, well, Mutt 5(?) is a definite.

“I have no cheeky answer for [that]. I just work here. I’m glad to work here,” Ford said at Cannes on Friday. “Till they tell me otherwise, I will continue to be Indiana Jones.”

Harrison Ford is getting up there and I can see him making sure he’s all set well into retirement. Then again, it’s not like he has to feed Calista Flockhart. She subsists on the morning dew and the occasional toast crumb.
