Sheryl Crow Goes To Congress
Long gone are the days when all she wanted to do was have some fun. Sheryl Crowe showed up to speak to Congress about breast cancer and throw her support behind a bill aimed at funding breast cancer resarch. Girlfriend was all business and said her piece about a bill that could authorize spending to research the environmental factors that might be causing the disease. Additionally, an attached bill is aimed at making health insurance companies pay for an at least 48-hour hospital stay after a patient has received a mastectomy.
The singer and breast cancer survivor told a House subcommittee on health, “I don’t live in a political world and while this might seem like a political discussion, until you are the one in seven women diagnosed with breast cancer, you will never know how NOT political this is.”
