So, Sarah Jessica Parker, how do you do it?
Daily News’ Moms & the City asked this question of the Sex and the City star at a New York screening of Parker’s new movie adaptation, I Don’t Know How She Does It. The audience consisted of working and stay-at-home mothers who were given the chance to ask Parker questions related to juggling work and home life.
While Parker admitted that she has plenty of help when caring for daughter, Marion, above, and her two other children, she admitted that there were times where she felt stressed out. “There were weeks when I was working and Matthew was working,” she remarked of husband, Matthew Broderick. “And it was a disaster.”
Soon, what started off as a forum became a confessional. After awhile, it became clear that many of these mothers experienced anxiety over their choices, regardless if they were working or non-working. Parker assumed the role of maternal counselor for the hour, telling the audience, “Your children will always love you because you’re their only mother.
“You’ll always be the one they adore because you’re you. Their mother.”
