Kanye West had a busy night last night (October 21, 2013). Prior to proposing to Kim Kardashian, Kanye attended the 17th annual Hollywood Film Awards at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
The award season has now officially kicked off! Sandra Bullock and Matthew McConaughey were among the big winners at the Hollywood Film Awards. The 49-year-old actress picked up the Hollywood Actress prize for her thrilling performance in 3D space movie Gravity. She, earlier, wowed on the red carpet in a tight black dress.
McConaughey was also a big winner at the ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, California, as he took home the Hollywood Actor accolade for his portrayal of a former stripper in comedy drama film Magic Mike last year.
Jared Leto was particularly funny, thanking the HFF for his own “breakthough” award at age 41. “It’s crazy what happens when people find out that you look great in a skirt. You get invited to all the cool parties,” he said of the honor for playing the transgender Rayon in Dallas Buyers Club. “I’ve actually never gotten an award for anything I have ever done on screen until now,” he said noting it’s his first film in six years.
Julia Roberts took home the Hollywood Supporting Actress prize for August: Osage County and the brunette beauty, alongside her co-stars Meryl Streep, Ewan McGregor, Benedict Cumberbatch and Juliette Lewis, picked up the Hollywood Ensemble Acting gong for the comedy drama film.
Other winners on the night included Harrison Ford, who won the Hollywood Career Achievement award, while Jake Gyllenhaal picked up the Hollywood Supporting Actor accolade for Prisoners and Ocean’s Eleven producer Jerry Weintraub won the Hollywood Legend prize.
