From 2009′s Avatar to 2012′s Drift, which he is currently filming, it is safe to say that the last few years have been busy for Sam Worthington. The 35-year-old actor has been working on film after film, and now, he tells Men’s Health, he is finally ready to take a break.
“I haven’t taken a break in four years. It’s been a nomadic existence,” Worthington said, according to Us Weekly. “Now it’s time to enjoy the fruits of my labor for a little bit — but I don’t think I’ll be gone for long.”
Featured on the cover of the September issue, Worthington also told Men’s Health that he struggled throughout his 20s to find work. Ultimately, it was his role in James Cameron‘s Avatar that marked the turning point in his career and allowed him to get where he is today.
“They say that in your 20s you’re trying to work out the man that you want to be, and in your 30s you discover who he is. And warped and all, beer gut and all, brain damage and all, you just kind of go, ‘Well, this is it, and I might as well try to polish it a tiny bit,’” Worthington told the magazine. ”I’m stuck with who I am, but I can be man enough to iron out the creases.”Worthington is currently promoting The Debt, which hits theaters August 31 and also stars Helen Mirren.
