Rumor Alert: Rachel Zoe’s Fashion Line Is In Trouble, Jeremiah Brent Getting His Own Series

We love The Rachel Zoe Project and we love Jeremiah Brent (and his Edward Cullen hair, which he informed us is to remain thick and gorgeous, per Rachel Zoe).  We watched last season as Zoe and husband Rodger Berman decided to first let Brent go from their company, then change their minds to rehire him.   Since then, he told me, he’s had the good fortune of redecorating Zoe’s offices and heading up her home design section.

“I’ll never forget Rachel looking and me and saying, ‘You need to live your life doing something you’re passionate about.’ That sentence changed my life, and she’s really been instrumental in helping me find what really fuels me.  It’s been kind of amazing, because I worked with her in fashion.  There are so many parallels between the two (fashion and interiors), so it’s been fun to kind of implement that and go into projects with her mentality in the back of my mind.”

On August 10th, Brent tweeted a photo of what may be his own firm.  ”So surreal- Jeremiah Brent Designs,” he tweeted.  ”Offices, up and running!” On August 9th, he posted a listing for a full-time design/personal assistant.

We’re not quite sure about his relationship with Zoe, but we did confirm with Brent’s reps that he has, in fact, started his business.

As for Zoe, Page Six reports that interest her clothing line with Chinese retailer Li & Fung, which is sold at Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales and Nordstrom, has “peaked.”  This is a bit suspect given that the line is expanding and Zoe just launched a jewelry line exclusively with NM and Bergdorf Goodman.

Alan Chartash, the chief strategy officer for Li & Fung USA told Page Six:  “We’re very happy. Apparel launched a year or so, and since that time, we’ve launched footwear, handbags and we’re launching a line of jewelry exclusively with Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman. We’re supportive of Rachel and the continuation of the brand. Like any clothing line, it ebbs and flows, but we’re very happy with the apparel sales.”

A source told Page Six that The Rachel Zoe Project may not be back for a fifth season, but that Brent may be getting his own reality series on Bravo. Why can’t we have both?
