As far back as June, rumors started circulating that certain cast members from The Real Housewives Of New York City would not be returning. Then in August, it was reported that Jill Zarin was given the heave-ho. Today, a source told the Huffington Post that Zarin, Kelly Bensimon and Alex McCord have been fired as full-time cast members from the Bravo reality franchise. Note that this has not been confirmed by Bravo, so at this point it’s just a rumor. As for Cindy Barshop…who really cares. Judging from her behavior on the reunion, it’s safe to say she waved crazy goodbye.
What I want to know is “Why?” Why fire those three? Yeah, they’re pretty insufferable and can only be handle in small doses (half that for Bensimon), but they’re certainly entertaining and make for great bloggy fodder. The source said that Sonja Morgan, LuAnn de Lesseps and Ramona Singer will be kept on, and that the other three were “directly contacted” by Bravo this morning (they had no clue they were being fired); De Lesseps did tell New York Live that three new faces would be added to the new season. Another insider told Huff Po that if the newbies don’t work out, there’s a possibility that the ladies would be invited back. This sounds really stupid. Why is this even happening?
Listen, Bravo. If you’re going to clean house, why not do it with the Orange County cast? Those bitches are AWFUL.
