Royal Wedding Rewind: Proud Mother Of The Bride, Carole Middleton [PHOTOS]

Arriving ahead of daughter Kate Middleton and husband Michael, Carole Middleton and son James stepped out of a Jaguar at Westminster Abbey on April 29th, 2011.  Showing off the effects of the Dukan diet in a Catherine Walker outfit, the former British Airways flight attendant looked just as happy as her daughter, if not more.  This was a woman whose ancestors were coal miners, and now her daughter was not only about to marry a prince, but she would eventually become the queen of England.

Just like her daughters, Carole has a fantastic figure and that day she showed off the confidence she obviously passed down to them.  The way Catherine holds herself in public is partially due to how she was raised.  Carole’s encouragement and ambitious nature combined with Michael’s kindness and unassuming nature has produced a perfect consort for Prince William.

It was Carole who advised Kate to show William what he was missing after their break-up in 2007.  Instead of letting her eldest daughter mope around their Bucklebury home, Carole suggested Kate up her social game and go out on the town more.  Party Pieces, the family company started by Carole in 1987, allowed for Kate to do so, using the family’s Chelsea apartment as a London base.

There are also rumors that Carole suggested Kate attend St. Andrews instead of Edinburgh, where she was due to go before her gap year, after mom learned that William was enroll in the fall of 2001.  Whether or not that is true remains to be seen, but from what we’ve read about Carole, that story is not surprising.

Just before the wedding, Carole and Michael were invited to lunch with Queen Elizabeth at Windsor Castle.  This was the first time the Middletons met Her Majesty.

Can you imagine what Carole was thinking to herself on April 29th?
